year of accident occurred, for each service completed by him at the time he retires, whether the number of years served be more or less than 10, but the amount of pension allowed shall be proportionate to the number of years served, and no claim to pension shall be made for more than 40/60th of pay and emoluments in respect of such service only. And the Captain Superintendent of Police shall in each case furnish a Medical Certificate stating: -
(a) Whether the capacity of the sufferer to contribute towards his own support is slightly impaired, impaired, materially impaired, or totally destroyed; and
(b) Whether such incapacity is likely to be permanent.
An addition to the pension may then be made on the following scale: -
(a) When the capacity is certified to be slightly impaired, 6/60ths of the pay and emoluments.
(b) When impaired, 12/60ths;
(c) When materially impaired, 18/60ths;
(d) When totally destroyed, 24/60ths.
But in no case, however, shall the total amount of the pension exceed the full pay and emoluments of the sufferer at the time when the injury occurred.
